Petrol Lawn Mowers

Petrol lawn mowers have sometimes gotten a bad rap. They are generally pricier than smaller corded electric lawn mowers, are bulkier and heavier, and in most cases require more maintenance throughout its life span than other mowers. However, there are several advantages to owning a petrol lawn mower that really overshadow the potential downsides. These include freedom of movement, power and cutting ability, and the different lawns they can handle.

Unlike electric lawn mowers that requires you to stay within a 100 foot radius from your outdoor plug in, petrol lawn mowers are cord free as they run on petrol and can move as far as you need them to. Another advantage of them being cordless is that with electric lawn mowers, running over the cord and damaging it and potentially injuring yourself is a real threat. That threat isn’t there with petrol mowers. This is also especially good if you happen to have properties away from your home with no plug in available.

Petrol lawn mowers are also known to be much more powerful than the average electric lawn mower. If you have a large yard that has some tough spots to mow with stubborn hard-to-cut weeds, you’ll want a petrol mower. These mowers are made to handle very thick and tall grass – their engines are designed to be able to handle it. So if your grass is allowed to grow up significantly between mowing and you have a lot of space to cover, the petrol mower is great.

Finally, working with petrol lawn mowers may not be as restrictive as you might think. Apart from being able to mow as far away as you want and tougher grass than other mowers can handle, the environment you’re mowing in is also a big factor for some people. For example, petrol mowers can mow wet grass. With electric mowers this is an impossibility, as you will not want to mow wet grass with anything that runs off electricity, especially in the event that the wire gets cut. Petrol lawn mowers are great, however, for mowing wet or dry grass, making them much less restrictive than other mowers.
